21 Card Game

21 Card Game

One of the easiest games to learn is 21 card game.  This is one of those games that is simple enough for anyone to play.

There are a few important rules you need to know before you get started.  Your goal is to have a hand that is as close to 21 as possible without going over.

Aces are worth either 1 or 11.  All face cards (Kings, Queens, or Jacks) are worth 10 points.  Any other card is worth the value it says on the card.

21 card game can be played with 2 or more players.  Each player is dealt two cards.

The first one is put in front of each player face down, and the second one is turned facing up.  Each player is able to look at their card that is facing down, but don’t want others to see that card.

The dealer starts to his or her left and asks each player if they want to get another card (the player say “hit me”).

If they don’t want another card they say “I’ll stay.”  The new cards are placed on the table facing up.

If a player gets 21 points they say “blackjack” and turns all their cards so they are facing up.  Their turn is over and it goes onto the next player.

Bring on The Betting

21 is a popular casino game, and that obviously means there’s betting involved.  This aspect can be very simple, but there are a few things we need to cover.

When playing the 21 card game, the bets are placed before the cards are handed out.

Each player can chose how much money they want to bet, but some casinos have a minimum and maximum bet limit for each table.

There will be a sign on the table that says what that limit is.

After the bets are placed, each player as well as the dealer are all dealt both cards.

The dealer will ask each player, starting at the one to his or her left if they would like to “Hit” or “Stay.”

If the player wants to hit, then that player gets another card.  If they say they want to stay, they won’t get anymore cards for that hand.

If a player is feeling lucky, then they can “double down.”  this means the player will put the same amount of money as their original bet.

This will be done after that player has had a chance to see their hand, but before they decide to get anymore cards.  Once they double down, they can hit or stay.

If a player gets an ace and any card that equals 10 (10, Jack, Queen, or King) they automatically have what’s called a “Blackjack.”  This player has won the hand and gets paid out for their bet.

If a player has doubles of any kind they have the option of splitting their hand.

They get to turn each double into the start of it’s own separate hand.  They would need to put the same amount for a bet on the second hand as they had originally.

Once this is done they can play each hand as it’s own by telling the dealer they want to “hit” or “stay.”

The goal of playing the 21 card game with betting involved is to get a better hand than the dealer.

Each player is directly playing against the dealer, which makes it easier than the non-betting version of playing against all the players at the table.

The downside to the betting version of this game is the player goes before the dealer, so if both the player and the dealer bust, the player loses.

Speed Card Game

Speed card Game

If you are looking for a fun card game for two people then speed card game is a great option.

As the name says, speed is a fast paced card game.  To get started you want to thoroughly shuffle the deck.

When speed is being played there will be 4 piles of cards in the center of the table.  These piles will be in a straight line equally between both players.

Start off by making two piles of 6 cards faced down.  Next divide the remaining deck into two piles (one for each player.

Each player will keep these piles in front of them face down, and take the top five cards to hold in their hand.

When the game starts each player will flip over the top card of the center pile (the ones with 6 cards) and put that card on the table between those two piles.

These cards that are facing up will be the ones that both players can play off of.  The game starts as soon as these cards that are facing up are placed on the table.

When looking at the cards in your hand you are able to play on either of the two piles that are facing up.  You can only play a card that is one value higher or lower than the top card of the two center piles.

For instance, if there is a 7 showing, you are able to play a 6 or an 8.  If it’s a 10 showing you can play a 9 or a Jack.

Once you have played some of your cards you are allowed to grab from your large pile of cards.  You can only have up to 5 cards in your hand at any time.

If both players can’t play off of either of the center piles this is when you both flip over the top card of the piles next to them.

Once these cards are flipped the game is active.  If all over these cards have been used, then leave the top card that is face up and flip over everything under them.

These will be the new piles that are used when neither player has a move.

The game is over when one player has used all of their cards that are in front of them.  At this point collect all the cards, shuffle and re-deal.

Also find out if there are other friends that might want to challenge the winner.

Rummy Card Game

Rummy Card Game

Playing the rummy card game is a great way to pass the time with some of your closest friends.

It is a very easy game to learn, but before you can get started there are a few things I need to explain.

Begin by dealing each player 10 cards if it’s two players, and 7 cards if its 3 or more players.  Put the remaining cards in the center of the table face down, and flip over the top card.

Each person should put their cards in order where each suit is arranged from lowest card to highest.  Don’t show anyone else your hand.

The person sitting to the left of the dealer goes first by either choosing a card from the top of the pile, or the card that’s facing up.

The goal is to get groups of cards that are either 3 or 4 of a kind.  Another option is to get straights of the same suit.

The player that just went can keep the card they chose, but they will need to discard one before the next player gets to go.

Once a group of 3 cards of the same suit are placed in order, or if a player has 3 of a kind these cards can then be melded.  To do this place the cards on the table in front of you face up.

The other players can then play off of these cards if they have one that is the same suit, and is the next card in order.

If someone decides to play off the cards another player melded then they want to put the card(s) that were played in front of themselves.  There is no need to put a card you played in front of another player.

You are going to need to have these cards in front of you for the last part of the game.

The game is over when a player has melded all of their cards and is able to put their last card in the discard pile.

The objective of the game is to gain the most points.  Add up the card values in the meld piles in front of each player.  Number cards are worth 5 points, face cards are worth 10 points, and aces are worth 15 points.

Any remaining cards in a player’s hand are subtracted from their score.  Write down each person’s points as you continue playing.

This is a fun game for any age level.  When you and your friends are first learning rummy card game I recommend starting by playing an open hand.

Each player puts their cards out in front of themselves for everyone else to see.  This makes it easy for everyone to see what’s going on, and to catch any mistakes someone might make.

Bridge Card Game

Bridge Card Game

It can be very fun to play bridge card game.  But before you can play there are a few rules to learn.

This game requires exactly 4 players.  There are two teams where each player sits across from their teammate.

With one deck each player is dealt 13 cards.  They then want to sort their hand by rank and by suit.

Aces are worth 4 points, Kings are worth 3, Queens are 2 points, and Jacks are 1 point.  Clubs are lowest value, then Hearts, Then Diamonds, then Spades.  Point values are only used for bidding.

The object of the game is to make “Tricks.”  Everyone plays one card from the same suit, and the player with the highest card wins the trick.

If a player doesn’t have any cards from the suit being played they can then play a card from the “Trump Suit.”  To determine the Trump Suit, or not to Trump the two teams compete.

Taking turns either playing a card or passing, a round of bidding is gone through.    Cards are placed on the table by each player.

Place the number of cards of the suit you like to tell your teammate the number of trumps you think you can take, beyond 6.

If a member of team A places one spade card, they are telling their partner they think they can take 7 trumps.

If their partner places a spades card, they are saying they also like spades.  A player that puts a different suit down is saying they like that suit better.

After two players have placed cards of the same suit down they have made their choice.

The team that has the highest card laid down has won the bid and gets to decide if they want to play with at Trump suit or No Trump.

The final score is determined by rewards or penalties comparing trick bids to tricks actually won.

Now that you know how to play bridge card game it’s time for you and your friends to get started.

Even though this card game seems to have more rules than some of the others, it is a very easy game to play once you know how.
